'Gram Worthy Avo Toast

Boomers hate it, Instagram loves it, and it's never going away. Avocado toast has gone from a college vegan’s struggle food to a mark of a well put together, socially aware individual, largely thanks to social media. But as good as it looks (and photographs)? It totally can be. The key, I think, is the bread. I go for either a fresh homemade slice, or a thick cut, deliciously tender sourdough. Personally, I don’t like my bread toasted, but rather sautéed. Topped off with some mashed avo + lime and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, it’s as glorious as it’s made out to be. 



My recipe:


Two slices of bread ( brioche or fresh sourdough)

1 tsp Irish butter

1 avocado, ripe

Splash of lime

Sea salt

Everything bagel seasoning




Heat a small frying pan, and butter each side of both slices of bread. Once the pan is hot, pan fry bread on both sides till golden. 


Prep and mash the avocado, using the lime juice to emulsify. Add salt as desired.


Spoon avocado mash over the bread, and top with Everything Bagel Seasoning. Serve with lemon water.
